 Hi guys it's Lucy🙂🩵💅🎀 We had a great day!  We packed up our things and then we went on a bus and went to Siena. There are many things in sienna. The horse racing it there too! It's called Palio. 🐎 People go on horses without a Saddle. Like when you go on a horse and there's a seat. There's no seat! 😬 It's very cool.😎 There is 17 horses in the race. My favorite horse is the caterpillar! 🩵  Then we did a tour guide with my dad's class. It was nice!! Then me Penny and my dad went to the sienna cathedral. It's a cool spot!🩵🩷🧡 We had to wait in a long line but it moved fast. Inside is very cool!😎 The big Pillards are striped. It's really cool and it's very big. Then there is a library inside. The books r very very big. 😲 And the painting on the walls is so good. Then we got some very good pizza and gelato! 🩵🩷🧡
Then we pop in a quick shop and got a rat and a funny tote bag.🤣🐀 We name the rat toey. [To-ee] Short for Ratatouille. Then we went back on the bus back to Rome. Then we found our mom! 💅🩵🧡🩷💅 When we were doing all this she was on the plane and going around. She has been to Rome before.  We got her soap🫧 a purse and one of the palio horses the caterpillar scarf of it! We had a great day today. I hope you guys have a nice day! Byeeeee🩵💅🎀

Vatican Museums: Old Art Aplenty

🖌 🎨 (This is Craig's Dad filling in some of the gaps, though Penny picked out the pictures.) Friday we went to the Vatican Museums. It was hot, and crowded, but otherwise a great experience. The top pic is a selfie in front of Raphael's School of Athens with all of history's great philosophers, Plato and Aristotle at the center. The museum stretches on forever with Roman statues, medieval frescoes (a form of mural painting on wet plaster that is really difficult but spectacular), and even some more contemporary art at the end (like the last painting with the traveling Cardinal and chunky cows). Above is the famous Laocoon where the Trojan priests and his sons are killed by a sea monster for warning his countrymen to not accept the Greek gift of the Trojan horse. Next, Lucy & Penny are in front of Nero's bathtub -- it's huge! There are also amazing tapestries like this one of Jesus, whose eyes follow you across the room.
