Hey👐! Penny writing🥭🎀! We got INSIDE the Colosseum😮👏😊! The security line was LONG. We had to do so much things to go in. Tbh, I wanted to go to sleep💤😴. When we got through, it was pretty cool. We took A LOT of pictures📸. There were also a couple models of the Colosseum. There's also a square Colosseum too. We didn't go tho😔. I was getting tired fast so I kept sitting down🪑💤. It was really HOT too😰🔥🌡. Then a cold breeze came in and it felt SO good😊. Litterally EVERYONE spread there arms out to feel it🍃💪. When we left, we took a bus home and hung out. Vatican Museums: Old Art Aplenty

🖌 🎨 (This is Craig's Dad filling in some of the gaps, though Penny picked out the pictures.) Friday we went to the Vatican Museums. It was hot, and crowded, but otherwise a great experience. The top pic is a selfie in front of Raphael's School of Athens with all of history's great philosophers, Plato and Aristotle at the center. The museum stretches on forever with Roman statues, medieval frescoes (a form of mural painting on wet plaster that is really difficult but spectacular), and even some more contemporary art at the end (like the last painting with the traveling Cardinal and chunky cows). Above is the famous Laocoon where the Trojan priests and his sons are killed by a sea monster for warning his countrymen to not accept the Greek gift of the Trojan horse. Next, Lucy & Penny are in front of Nero's bathtub -- it's huge! There are also amazing tapestries like this one of Jesus, whose eyes follow you across the room.
