First day in Florence!

                        Hi guys its lucy!😊🩵💅(oh by the way sorry some of the wording and pics and stuff is weird on some of the posts. Its cuz sometimes i use a Phone instead of a computer. But today i am using a computer.) So instead of Rome we are in Florence!!! Its was an 4 hour bus ride!😠😠  There was a lot of traffic so that's why it was so long. But we made it! Today we had an amazing day! We did a lot things. The first thing we did was we met my dads students at the Galileo museum. Its a really cool place.😎😎😎 Like a lot of his inventions are in that place. One of the things is the creation of the telescope. He made some really really REALLY big ones!!!!😱😱😶 And some nice small ones.😊 He also made this thing called an orrery. Its like the hole universe. Its really cool.😎😍🩵 I want to touch it but i can't.😢😢I feel like if i touch it, it would break cuz its real old. And there is many more things. But the one room I HATED!!!!!!!!😟😟 And the students. (and penny too) Its just too weird and just eww. Its very very VERY inapproprate! Its just like a whole room of how babys are made. They were seeing how babys are made. Like were seeing how to get them out of the body. 😖😖 And some are like babys that like there body is a little twisted. And one was two baby's like that got stuck together.😖😖😔Its a very sad and weird. But the museum was very cool still. Then we got some pizza that was very good. Me and my dad got a Pesto pizza and penny got a Margherita pizza. Then when we were walking we saw the Gates of Paradise. It took the person who and is 40 years too do it.😮😱😶 Its very cool. Then we went back to the hotel. The dinner was Nasty I can't even discribe it. My dad went to take a short walk and he saw a ferris wheel and a Carousel. The ferris wheel was amazing. Loved the view. And  the other thing was a Carousel. There was many creatures on it. There was a spinney seat that me and penny went on.  I spun Penny super fast.😫😵😶That was very fun! Then we went back to the holet. But there was this puppy that greeted you when you came in the the hole The puppy is SO cute! Best thing of that hotel. Well I hope you guys have a nice in Newport! byeeee🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵

Vatican Museums: Old Art Aplenty

🖌 🎨 (This is Craig's Dad filling in some of the gaps, though Penny picked out the pictures.) Friday we went to the Vatican Museums. It was hot, and crowded, but otherwise a great experience. The top pic is a selfie in front of Raphael's School of Athens with all of history's great philosophers, Plato and Aristotle at the center. The museum stretches on forever with Roman statues, medieval frescoes (a form of mural painting on wet plaster that is really difficult but spectacular), and even some more contemporary art at the end (like the last painting with the traveling Cardinal and chunky cows). Above is the famous Laocoon where the Trojan priests and his sons are killed by a sea monster for warning his countrymen to not accept the Greek gift of the Trojan horse. Next, Lucy & Penny are in front of Nero's bathtub -- it's huge! There are also amazing tapestries like this one of Jesus, whose eyes follow you across the room.
